Steven E. Pitt, D.O.
Dr. Pitt is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix. He is also a consultant to the Phoenix Police Department, a forensic psychiatrist with Park Dietz & Associates and a consultant to Threat Assessment Group, Inc.
Dr. Pitt is a board-certified psychiatrist with sub-specialty training and board certification in forensic psychiatry. A graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Pitt completed his residency training in psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical Center and a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He was formerly Director of Forensic Psychiatric Services at Arizona State Hospital and for 10 years served as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Pitt has testified and/or consulted in a number of jurisdictions throughout the United States, participating in cases involving serial rape, sexual harassment, sexual assault, psychic harm, mental state at the time of the offense, competency to stand trial, testamentary capacity, wrongful termination, murder for hire, psychiatric autopsy, impaired professionals, domestic homicide, psychiatric malpractice, workplace violence, school violence, employment discrimination, sexual homicide, stalking, spree murder, infanticide, and mass murder. Dr. Pitt also consults to law enforcement agencies about interviewing strategies.
