Gregg O. McCrary, M.A. (FBI, Ret.)

Gregg O. McCrary was an FBI Agent for over 25 years. He served in various investigative capacities throughout the United States and retired as a Supervisory Special Agent from the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit. He has consulted on thousands of cases throughout the United States, Canada, Central America, Europe and Asia and provided training to law enforcement agencies around the world. He has provided expert witness testimony throughout the United States, in Canada and Europe and has testified before Select Senate Committees on Sexual Violence in New York State and Massachusetts. He currently provides expert testimony in violent crime cases throughout the United States and in Europe.

Mr. McCrary is the author of The Unknown Darkness, Profiling the Predators Among Us, published by Harper Collins in 2003. He is also a contributing author to the Crime Classification Manual published in 1992 by Lexington Press and contributed to the book Criminal Investigative Failures published in 2009 by CRC Press. His work in violent crime has been highlighted in several television documentaries including the Emmy nominated, The Mind of Serial Killer, produced by NOVA for the Public Broadcasting System. He has provided expert commentary to ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, The Discovery Channel, National Geographic, The New York Times, Time Magazine, Newsweek and numerous other media nationally and internationally. 

He also currently serves as an adjunct professor of Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia and DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.
