TAG School Violence Prevention
Why should your school district know about TAG?
- Founded in 1987, TAG was the first company specializing in the prevention of violence in the American workplace. The Tennessee Department of Education has made TAG training available to every school district in Tennessee in 2011-2012. TAG’s school violence prevention curricula were completely updated in 2011 and include a 2-day training program for School Districts and Principals and a train-the-trainers program for those who will train all of the administrators and department heads in the school district using TAG’s Supporting a Safe and Respectful School.
- TAG experts were invited by the FBI to assist with their project entitled, “The School Shooter: A Threat Assessment Perspective,” which adopted TAG’s model of school violence prevention. Only through TAG training can your school district learn the 95% of TAG’s program that was not shared with the FBI.
- At the request of the Office of the District Attorney of Jefferson County, Colorado, TAG experts conducted the Columbine Psychiatric Autopsy Project, exploring the causes of the Columbine High School tragedy and lessons for prevention (featured in Bill Kurtis’ Investigative Reports on the A&E channel in 2002).
- TAG experts have been engaged by prosecutors’ offices to evaluate the mental state of the offenders in highly publicized, multiple-victim school shootings, including Oregon v. Kip Kinkel, Interest of Anthony B. Solomon, Jr. (shooting at Heritage High School, Rockdale, GA), and California v. Charles Andrew Williams.
- TAG experts have presented educational symposia to school administrators in California, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and Tennessee.
